Ontario Ruffed Grouse & Spruce Grouse Hunting

With access to hundreds of miles of old backcountry bush roads, animal paths and ATV trails only moments from our lodge, we have a prime location for grouse hunting.

The best time for grouse hunting is in late September. Many of the leaves have fallen, which improves visibility, and the mornings are cool and frosty - the conditions in which grouse become more active. Later in the day the temperature will warm up into the teens.

Grouse hunting is more than just hunting; it's a chance to take a long walk in the picturesque Northern Ontario wilderness and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. Spending a few days immersed in the autumn air and the beauty of the outdoors is an incredible way to relax and rejuvenate.

The limit for grouse (Ruffed or Spruce in any combination) is 5 per day with a total limit in your possession of 15. A good grouse gun would be a .410 or 20 gauge. Some hunters use their 12 gauge.
